Déconfinés depuis le 4 juillet dernier, Kate Middleton et le prince William ont officiellement repris leurs engagements royaux. Et leur première visite a été à l'hôpital Queen Elizabeth, où la duchesse a reçu un beau cadeau.
Kate Middleton et le prince William reprennent du service. Confinés durant plusieurs mois à cause de la pandémie de coronavirus, le duc et la duchesse de Cambridge ont été contraints d'honorer leurs engagements officiels via des appels vidéo. Mais depuis le 4 juillet dernier, date du déconfinement au Royaume-Uni, c'est bien physiquement qu'ils peuvent désormais honorer leurs devoirs royaux. Et leur premier réflexe a été de rendre visite aux soignants de l'hôpital Queen Elizabeth dans le Norfolk. Une visite symbolique dans cet établissement qui fêtera ses 40 ans le 22 juillet prochain, et où pas moins de 450 patients ont été soignés du Covid-19.
Pour l'occasion, Kate Middleton avait retrouvé ses tenues officielles habituelles, elle qui a durant le confinement opté pour des vêtements discrets et plus confortables, mais non moins coûteux. Lors de sa visite, elle portait une robe chemise bleue imprimée avec un col blanc qui était ceinturée pour souligner sa taille fine. Et si Kate Middleton et le prince William sont venus pour remercier et féliciter les soignants, il se trouve qu'ils ne sont pas repartis les mains vides. En effet durant leur visite, ils ont reçu en cadeau trois adorables petits portes-clés en tricot, spécialement réalisés pour leurs trois enfants, George, Charlotte et Louis, rapporte Hello magazine.
Kate et William plus que jamais auprès des soignants
Un premier engagement post-confinement qui n'est cependant pas étonnant de la part de Kate Middleton et du prince William. En effet, plus que jamais pendant le confinement, le duc et la duchesse de Cambridge ont soutenu les soignants de nombreux établissements britanniques où étaient accueillis les personnes atteintes du Covid-19. Et ce parfois même outre-Atlantique, puisque à l'occasion de la Journée du Canada, ils ont organisé un appel vidéo avec des soignants du Fraser Health's Surrey Memorial Hospital, en Colombie-britannique. L'occasion pour eux de promettre de revenir bientôt au Canada, où ils ne sont pas allés depuis 2016.
